Custom canvass view options in Motion
The pop-upward menus in the top-correct side of the canvas let you customize various view settings, including zoom level, color channels, rendering options, overlay options, and 3D view layouts.
Important: In 360° projects, many of the View and Overlay options, such every bit rulers, guides, safe zones, and so on are not always available. See Intro to 360° video in Motion.
Zoom Level pop-upward menu
Choose any of several default zoom levels. Zooming the canvass changes the current view of the window, non the size of the images in your project. Meet Zoom or pan the sail in Motion.
Channels pop-up menu
Choose which color channels are displayed in the canvas:

Color: Shows the image every bit it would announced on a video monitor. Visible layers announced in natural colour and transparent areas reveal the groundwork colour every bit set up in the Properties Inspector for the project. The background color is black by default. To change it, press Command-J, then choose a color from the Background Colour command in the Properties Inspector.
Note: To export the background color with the project, make sure the Background popular-up menu in the Properties Inspector is prepare to Solid. When the Groundwork popular-up menu is set up to Transparent, the color is visible in the canvas, but does not return every bit part of the alpha channel.

Transparent: Shows the background area of the canvass as transparent. A checkerboard design appears past default where no images block the groundwork.

Alpha Overlay: Displays the image in normal color, simply adds a ruby highlight over transparent areas of the image.

RGB Only: Displays the normal mix of scarlet, greenish, and bluish channels only displays transparent areas (including semitransparent areas) as opaque.

Red: Displays merely the crimson channel as a range of blackness to white.

Greenish: Displays only the light-green channel every bit a range of black to white.

Blue: Displays only the blue channel equally a range of black to white.

Alpha: Displays the alpha (transparency) channel of the layers in the sheet.

Cull the return quality and resolution of the sail display, and enable or disable features that can impact playback functioning. When an option is active, a checkmark appears beside the menu item. Quarter: Displays the canvas at one-quarter resolution.

Draft: Renders objects in the canvas at a lower quality to let optimal project interactivity. In that location'south no anti-aliasing.

Normal: Renders objects in the sail at a medium quality. Shapes are anti-aliased, but 3D intersections are not. This is the default setting.

Best: Renders objects in the canvas at best quality, which includes higher-quality paradigm resampling, anti-aliased intersections, anti-aliased particle edges, and sharper text.

Custom: Allows y'all to gear up additional controls to customize rendering quality. Choosing Custom opens the Avant-garde Quality Options dialog. See Avant-garde Quality settings.

Lighting: Turns the upshot of lights in a projection on or off. This setting does non turn off lights in the Layers list (or light scene icons), but it disables light shading effects in the sail.

Field Rendering: Enables/disables field rendering. Field rendering is required for smooth motion playback on many Tv set monitors. Field rendering about doubles rendering time, so disabling this particular may improve operation.
Notation: When creating an effect, title, transition, or generator template for utilise in Terminal Cut Pro, the Field Rendering setting in the View pop-up menu does not control whether field rendering is applied in Final Cutting Pro. View and Overlay pop-upwards menu

Safe Zones: Turns display of the championship prophylactic and activity condom guides on and off. By default, these guides are set at 80% and 90%. You can change these settings and the color of the guides in the Sail pane (Zones section) of Motion Preferences.

Show 3D Overlays: Turns 3D overlays in the canvas on and off, including Camera overlays, 3D view tools, 3D compass, inset view, 3D grid, and 3D scene icons. (3D overlays appear in projects that incorporate 3D groups. See View 3D overlays in Movement.)

3D View Tools: Turns the Camera bill of fare and 3D view tools in the canvas on and off. See Use 3D view tools in Motility.

Compass: Turns the 3D compass in the sheet on and off. Using red, green, and blue axes, the compass shows your current orientation in 3D space. The cherry-red centrality is Ten (horizontal), the green centrality is Y (vertical), and the blue centrality is Z (depth). Run across Cameras and views in Movement.

Inset View: Turns the inset view in the sheet on and off. When enabled, a temporary window appears in the lower-right corner of the sail displaying an active camera or Perspective view of the project, helping you stay oriented every bit you lot move objects in 3D space. In the 3D pane of Move Preferences, yous can change the size of the inset view, as well as control whether the inset view appears on transform changes, on all changes, or manually. Correct for Attribute Ratio: Applies an artificial baloney of the canvass in projects with nonsquare pixels. When the setting is on, the computer monitor simulates what a Television monitor displays. When the setting is off, projects with nonsquare pixels appear stretched. This is because computer monitors accept square pixels. This setting does not change the output of the projection.

Evidence Full View Expanse: When enabled, this setting lets yous see the portion of a layer that extends beyond the edge of the canvas. This setting is disabled past default, considering information technology slows your project'south interactivity.

View Layouts pop-up card
Choose a preferred view your projection in the sail. Yous can view the sail as a unmarried workspace or choose from available window arrangements in the menu. (Although the workspace views are available for 2D projects, they are most useful when working in 3D infinite.)
The View Layouts pop-up menu displays the following items:

Single: The default value, displays a single window in the canvass.

Two-up, side by side: Displays ii windows in the canvas, one side by side to the other.

Two-upwardly, top and bottom: Displays two windows in the canvass, one on elevation of the other.

Three-upwardly, large window below: Displays iii windows, two next to each other on top and a larger window below.

Three-up, large window correct: Displays three windows, 2 stacked on the left side and a larger window spanning the right side.

Four-upwards, big window right: Displays four windows, three stacked on the left side and one larger window on the correct side.

Four-up: Displays 4 windows, yet size.
